Honda announced Wednesday that it plans to introduce 30 new EVs globally by 2030 with a global sales volume of 2 million units. By 2040, the company plans to sell nothing but battery electric and fuel cell electric powered vehicles.

The first hint of that is due to come on January 9, 2024 at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. There, the company “will showcase the global EV series models and several key technologies that illustrate the significant transformation Honda is currently undergoing.” The models will be presented by Toshihiro Mibe, Global CEO of Honda and Shinji Aoyama, Global EVP of Honda.

The announcement comes after Honda scrapped plans to jointly develop a line of EVs with General Motors based on the GM’s Ultium battery technology. The only fruit of that collaboration is the forthcoming Honda Prologue, which based on the Chevrolet Blazer EV.

The company also announced a new slogan, new global brand slogan, “The Power of Dreams – How we move you.” It’s meant to show how Honda vehicles will “transcend various constraints such as time and place,” and “augment their abilities and possibilities.”
