The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe has made its North American debut at AutoMobility LA.

Featuring a much more upright, boxy look, the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe’s exterior design focused on a concept Hyundai calls “Open for More” that seeks to connect people with their activities and natural environments. This concept is most directly expressed in the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe’s new larger liftgate, meant to make the rear feel like a “terrace-like living space,” rather than just a place to store things. The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe also features a longer wheelbase that has allowed Hyundai to offer a standard, and now more comfortable, third row with best-in-class legroom. The exterior of the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe also prominently features both rectangular and horizontal surfacing as well as distinct H-shaped elements like the headlights, lower front valance, and rear taillights, as a tribute to the Hyundai logo itself. How very self-referential. Buyers can choose from multiple wheel options up to 21 inches in size.

The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe will be available in 11 exterior colors, including Phantom Black, Serenity White Pearl, Shimmering Silver Metallic, Ecotronic Gray Pearl, Ecotronic Gray Matte, Ultimate Red Metallic, Earthy Brass Matte, Hampton Gray, Terracotta Orange, and Rockwood Green Pearl.

Inside, the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe continues the exterior’s focus on squared-off, horizontal design. H-shaped elements also make another appearance in the upper instrument panel and air vents. The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe now has a panoramic curved display with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard equipment. Second and third-row seats are fully foldable, and eco-friendly materials are used throughout the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe’s soft surfaces, including the headliner, seat backs, and instrument panel. Options include a UV-C sterilization compartment, a 12-speaker Bose premium sound system, a digital center mirror, and first-row “relaxation comfort” seats with leg rests.

Buyers can choose from four interior colorways on the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe, including Obsidian Black, Supersonic Gray, Pecan Brown, and Forest Green.

The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe will be available with two different powertrain options. Standard will be a 2.5-liter turbocharged unit rated at 277 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque. Buyers looking for the best efficiency can opt for a 1.6-liter turbocharged hybrid powertrain with a combined output of 232 hp and 271 lb-ft of torque.

Standard safety features for the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe include Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, Rear View Monitor, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, and Front and Rear Parking Distance Warning.

Hyundai also debuted a new generation, outdoor-focused XRT model that includes dark chrome and black trim accents, 30-inch all-terrain tires, and an additional 1.5 inches of ground clearance.

The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe will go on sale in March of 2024, with the hybrid version arriving sometime in the spring.
